Factually: (a) The S&P closed October down -0.93%, but still up +10.7% YTD.  (b) The equal-weighted S&P closed UP +4.9% in October.  (c) Midterm patterns and seasonality suggest a strong run ahead for stocks.  (d) Value stocks are making new all-time highs following the yield correction.   And (e) Global earnings breadth is running a little too strong.  Overall, per Callum Thomas: I have a neutral stance due to an increasingly adverse risk backdrop with few remaining supports.  I believe that: expensive valuations + consensus bullish sentiment + heavy exposure to equities = a dangerous risk setup.  Despite our FED’s hesitation in October, monetary policy remains on a tightening path.  Stocks remain in an uptrend, and the earnings/macro story is marginally supportive.  Valuations = Expensive.  Macro ’n Earnings = Supportive.  Monetary Policy = Multiple Headwinds.  Sentiment ’n Positioning = Contrarian Bearish.  And the Technical Charts = SLIGHT Bullish Uptrend.
